I've always been fascinated with street art in the raw form because in a sense it's like giving the finger to the status quo.
In the intellectual sense, some have said street art is a reaction to one's personal environment to the bombardment of commercialization via gentrification and advertising. Regardless, street art has not only been influential in the art world but has been infectious to popular culture as we know it today.
So, it was pretty neat to cover the 7th Letter Collective here in LA.
