How We Made This
When initially conceptualizing our goal was to create a story that minimized our location costs. Being new to LA and having had to search for housing ourselves; our ideas naturally began to gravitate towards some roommate horror story that at least everyone has experienced at some point in his or her lives. After a few drafts we had come up with THE ROOMMATE. After several weeks of planning and establishing a crew we held some casting calls and some read throughs to make sure that we had found our leads. Thank the lord for craigslist because we would never have found all of our wonderful cult members. With our actors in place we shot over one long weekend. Throughout the shoot we stayed as loyal to the script for our principle shots and then allowed room for improvisation. With a healthy mix of both we came away with plenty to work with. The editing process went pretty quickly, however, our work schedule often conflicted with the editing bay's availability and thus our post production process ultimately stretched out over a couple of months. Due to our limited budget we are extremely happy with the final product and so much of what you see and hear could not have been accomplished without the help of our friends and family. It was a labor of love and we hope to continue to create new and funnier ideas to share with you all. We hope you enjoy.
